Java Portlet Developer

Location – Wakefield
Full time Permanent position
Salary negotiable – depending on applicant suitability

You will be part of our web development team, responsible for building and maintaining solutions utilising Liferay. In particular you'll develop rich interactive portlets for our online communities. You'll help the team to identify best practices for Liferay development. You’ll be able to provide evidence of your flexibility and openness to learning new technologies required to satisfy changing demands. You’ll be used to working to deadlines in a dynamic, client driven environment.

Based in West Yorkshire, we have 50 large clients in the UK and Australia. Our culture is open and supportive. You will have opportunities for career and personal development.

Our portfolio of IT related products & services include market leading graphical financial modellers, HR performance management software, timesheet software, bespoke web applications and pension scheme websites.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related degree - 2:1 or above
  • 2 years or more commercial experience
  • Strong grasp of software engineering principles and best practices
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence / own transport required

  • Desirable: Liferay, Portlets (JSR168/JSR286), JPA/Hibernate, Velocity, Hudson, Jasper, Selenium, GNU Linux, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Ruby, Rails, SVN, Tomcat, Eclipse, Ant, JSF, HTML, CSS, Javascript/AJAX/jQuery
